“The city of Steel is looking to become the city of Poker”

City of Stee

Is Pittsburg now the City of Poker?

Pittsburgh, a city that is historically known for its steel industry, is moving into the casino arena. Casinos in the state are stumbling over themselves in a bid to get licenses approved by the state gambling board so that they can offer their patrons quality poker and table games, and players will be thrilled with what some of these gambling establishments have in store for them.

Earlier this year, lawmakers in the state of Pennsylvania legalized table games for the state’s casinos. That opened up the possibility of millions of dollars being pumped into the economy. The Rivers Casino has decided to go all the way in terms of bringing poker fans a top notch poker experience, and will be competing with some of the big casino brands on the Vegas Strip in terms of poker room size. Already, several casinos have petitioned the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, and on Monday, Rivers followed. Rivers asked for the right to operate eighty-six table games that will include poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps, among others.

So, what does this mean for gamblers, and most notably, poker players? Well, it means no more having to make your way to Vegas, Atlantic Casino or further afield to Europe or Macau. It means one more casino and/or poker game that is now within driving distance.  And it means the city of steel is now the city of poker.
